Exhaustive Restoration of Awesome 119k MK VI tenor

This one was "fun" hahaha. What a mess, and how great it came out. Sold and the owner loves it. Setup is solid is unchanging he said. Man, this one was a big job, full writeup at the site:

After you did the steel wool do you put any wax or other to prevent red from returning? Does the acid bath remove the remaining lacquer of is that the steel wool? I use wrights copper cream with positive results.

I did not use an wax or surface treatment. It was not an acid bath, it was Methylene Chloride. That took off all the lacquer, and any humans attached to it. It left the surface very stained which required the polish but there was no more lacquer.
